Hyde Park is a former Tudor hunting ground covering around 350 acres east of Kensington Gardens.
It comprises mostly open parkland and includes the Serpentine, a 40 acre lake.
Close to Marble Arch is Speakers Corner, an area set aside for public speaking, traditionally on Sundays.
Activities within the park include horse riding, tennis and boating. The park hosts events such as pop concerts, and is one of the locations that gun salutes are fired on special occassions.

Green Park - around 40 acres of trees and grassland on the south side of Piccadilly between Hyde Park and St. James's Park.
Within the park are the Diana Fountain, the R.A.F. Bomber Command Memorial, the Canada Memorial and, on the south side opposite Buckingham Palace, Canada Gate.

The Mall runs within the northern boundary of the Park and forms a ceremonial approach to Buckingham Palace from the east.

Regent's Park - to the north west of central London this Royal Park is around 410 acres of formal gardens, open parkland, sports pitches and a children's playground.
London Zoo is located in the park and the Regent's Canal runs through the northern end of it.
In the summer months an open air theatre operates and there are boats for hire on the lake.
